The Liberation of Buchenwald, April 1945

Bourke White was able to capture the image of the people held in the Buchenwald concentration camp in Germany. This was one of the first published images of the death camps in Germany, and shows the ordinary Germans "horrified by the actions of their compatriots". It was published in Life Magazine
