I really think that the muted colors and color scheme added to the effect of this photo. I think that the purple/teal/yellow scheme added a dramatic effect to this photo. I think he messed with the white balance on this photo to make the neutral tones more yellowish, and I also think he decreased the saturation and contrast while raising each individual colors saturation to create a surreal effect.
